Art and science coexist! Since legendary times, both are endeavors where creativity and techniques converge, resulting in extraordinary works of art and scientific findings that promote the advancement of societies. Both artists and scientists strive to see the world in new ways and to communicate that vision (Featherstone 2016). The need to question natural phenomena and seek answers is the engine that propels the cultural and economic development of all nations. Nature has been the source of inspiration for many people in the arts and science. In music, for example, nature has inspired the famous "the whispers of the forest" of Wagner, and "Four Seasons" by Antonio Vivaldi, and later the Beatles would create "Blackbird". Without a doubt, nature is the source that nourishes the minds of scientists and artists, from Marie Curie (Nobel 1977) and her fascination for the radioactive nature of the elements to Gabriel García Márquez (Nobel 1982) with his jungle and supernatural Aracataca in his masterpiece "One Hundred Years of Solitude." Thus, arts and science are tools that allowed the whole of humanity to immerse themselves in nature's beauty. We must find effective forms of communication to transmit essential knowledge to live sustainably. We should be for nature--ours and other species.

Today, communications technology has allowed contact with anyone in the world, but scientists and artists do not fully communicate because there is not a common language. We must find a communication channel that allows us to transmit knowledge in an effective and forceful way, open to all people, that connects with all our senses; this language is music. Of all artistic expressions, music is a multicultural and multiethnic language that attracts and integrates people; music multiplies in our heads and hearts! Music is a powerful source of connection of all our senses, without dimensions nor limits. Here, we are proposing to unite the rock stars of life sciences and rock bands on the same stage, at the SCIENCE & ROCK FESTIVAL. Our goal is to connect science, music, and future scientists, musicians, artists, and the general public.
